Hands Off My Design

An EU-wide contest to draw attention to the growing threat of counterfeiting and piracy was launched by the EU Office of Harmonization for the Internal Market (OHIM) and the European Observatory on Counterfeiting and Piracy.

The contest, titled Hands off my Design, invited design students and professionals to submit posters and videos that highlight the negative impact of counterfeiting and piracy on Europe's economy and society.

The winners of the competition were announced earlier this month. Industrial designer Dimitris Haidas was third in the Professional category, with an animation entry. The Larissa designer teaches at the local Technical Institute, in the Wood and Furniture Design and Technology Department.

The winners received their prizes at the European Parliament Office in Brussels from Internal Market and Services Commissioner, Michel Barnier, and the President of OHIM, António Campinos.
